I listened. Ummm...Not much to comment here (no offense, Mrs. Miller) but I suppose that, well, this would be your husband you're talking about. If you really trust and love your husband, you'll give him the benefit of the doubt. Innocent until proven guilty, peoples.
You should maybe talk with your husband about past girlfriends and how long they dated and all that. Just to be open and be on the safe and I-will-NOT-get-jealous side in case you happen to bump into his past girlfriends. :)

Tova, your feedback is important and i invite everyone who listens into the hotline to answer Tova with their opinions and thoughts. i'll just say for now, if only it were as simple as you make it sound. we're talking about the rest of your life here. even if everything about your husband's past relationships were known to you, do you think it wouldn't affect your relationship? a person's heart can contain only so much space for close, intimate relationships. if your husband was emotionally and physically close to girls before he met you, they will not just disappear from his heart and life. it doesn't work that way. your relationship will suffer because of it and will not be as special as it could have been. and who would want to sacrifice the quality of this lifetime relationship? so it follows that if you don't want that, you have to be the type of girl who is not like that either to deserve such a guy and such a relationship.

Hey, guys! Get points, food, raffles, and an inspirational night out! Tonight at 8:30, at Ateres Yeshaya hall (on County Line Rd., corner of east end). Rebbetzin Kanievsky, wife of one of the greatest tzaddikim alive today, will be presented on a short video. After that, Rebbetzin Samet, author of The Other Side of the Story, will speak. Guys, I've heard her-- she's amazing! I heard her speak when I was your age, and I wasn't bored even then!
Also raffles (you could win a digital camera I think) and a buffet. Any money that's donated at the end goes to marry off a poor orphan.
AAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNDDDDDDDDDDDD:
Two points for any girl who shows up! Extra point for EVERY friend you bring along! Don't miss it!
Mrs. P.

Hey everyone..
I listened to the hotline last night and i loved it. Mrs. Miller was 100000% right.
And about bumping into his past girlfriends- thats really awkward. and it would probably ruin the relaationship.

Chica, you think YOU have problems??? I haven't finished SHOPPING yet!!!! I'm doomed.
But yeah, we're going to have a blast. Lucky girl - you're going to sleep in a cabin. I'M going to be in a tent.
Except I had an acquaintance who was there last year and she sent when the flaps were up and the sunlight was in it was really nice. But you'll like it when at about 8 in the morning you're woken up by sunlight (and a trumpet)...but this is for the bus.
But yeah, we'll have a blast.
And Mazel Tov on naming the baby!

Wow, Naomi, this truly does sound amazing. Can you post a comment closer to the fast with the exact details of the time and address? Thank you so much. Naomi, press other when you're ready to send your comment, then type in your name. You don't have to give the web page when it asks for it. This way, you won't keep coming up anonymous. Also, you are not supposed to go shopping during the 9 days and... what is --- pressure? it doesn't sound like you...

hi morah, i just listened to the homework hotline and wow! that's all i can say. it's very important to keep hearing this eventhough we know what the right thing to do...we just need that push especiallly in the summer!

Anonymous said...

hey guyss wats up?? everyone should listen to the hotline.....its really good and realy true.

Anonymous said...

Eh. But, Morah, we need to go shopping for Sternberg, and it starts the day after Tisha B'av. We won't exactly have time to go shopping later. We have GOT to be allowed to go shopping for camp!!!!
And GOSH, Naomi, you seriously need to start shopping...If you don't have what you need, you're D-O-O-M-E-D. Especially if you don't have what you need if you're able to go on the Delaware.

Tova, the best i can do is tell you the halacha. At that point, it's up to u and the free choice you were blessed with. Tho i would think that telling someone else to violate the halacha would be very unadvisable... In your case (an extenuating circumstance), i would advise you to ask a rav.

Tova, call 732 363 1616, and ask for Rabbi Freundlich. He answers halachic questions around the clock, and he is very compassionate. If there's any solution for you, he'll find it! You can tell him I sent you, if you want, and you can mention that I taught you in Shalom Torah Centers. (Sometimes it's easier for a rav to answer a question if he knows something about you.)
Mrs. P.
